Rajasthan is a major tourist attraction for all those visiting INDIA. Even today most of the tourists who visit India are attracted by the splendours of Rajasthan. They are eager to explore its culture and traditions, Forts and Palaces, Temples, Sculptures and Paintings. Tales of the brave Rajput warriors bring them to Rajasthan where they experience and feel the mystical past of this colourful state.

Hadoti in Rajasthan is one such unexplored treasure land for tourists. It holds potential to fulfill the needs of any tourists looking for adventure. Kota, Bundi, Baran and Jhalawar together form the Hadoti region, history of which dates back to several centuries.

Chambal river is the backbone of this region. The river flows through beautiful terrain, which can be a major tourist attraction. Kota Barrage, Jawahar Sagar Dam and Rana Pratap Sagar Dam have been built on this river.

The banks of river Chambal are site to various temples and forts like Garadiya Mahadev Temple, Bhaisrorhgarh Fort, Keshoraipatan Temple etc.

It is interesting to know that Chambal is the only river in India which flows from South to North. It originates in Northwest Madhya Pradesh, crosses Rajasthan and merges into Yamuna near Itawa. It is also joined on its journey by rivers like Kalisindh, Parvati, Banas and Maiz. 'Chambal River Valley Project' was started jointly by Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan government and under which three dams - Gandhi Sagar Dam, Rana Pratap Sagar Dam and Jawahar Sagar Dam and one barrage - Kota barrage have been constructed on the river. These also form a site worth visiting especially during rains.
